Deputy Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Ivan Gil, does not rule out the arrival of more Russian military men to the South American country within the framework of existing agreements on military-technical cooperation between Russia and Venezuela.

The minister said that a group of Russian military men remains in Venezuela and they will stay in the country as long as required.

He stressed that the presence of the Russian military in Venezuela is not a guarantee of USA's non-interference in the affairs of the South American country. The main guarantee is the people and the government of Venezuela, he added.

At the end of March, it was reported that a group of 99 Russian military men arrived in Venezuela with Chief of the General Staff of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Vasily Tonkoshkurov at the head of the group. The airplanes also delivered 35 tons of cargo.
