Automotive giant Ford decided to wrap up its business in Russia and leave the market. According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, after having serious sales problems, Ford eventually decided not to continue an independent business in Russia. The company will focus on the segment of light commercial vehicles, where it already has a successful and highly localized product - Ford Transit.
Ford's long-term partner in Russia, Sollers company, will manage this business in the country.

Originally, Ford considered several options for reducing its presence on the Russian market, among which the withdrawal was considered the most radical one. Together with Sollers, Ford has three factories in Russia, where they assemble Ford Focus, Ford Mondeo, Ford Fiesta, Ford Ecosport, Ford Kuga, Ford Explorer and Ford Transit.

Ford's pullout from the Russian automotive market is associated with large-scale business restructuring program around the world.
