CPAC marks President Trump’s first public appearance since leaving the White House. Al Cardenas, CPAC's former president, said that the event would be Trump's coronation. He said that Trump is the de facto leader of the Republican Party and those who do not want to follow in Trump’s footsteps will pay the price.
According to a CPAC straw poll, 97% of the respondents said they approve of Trump’s job performance as president, with 87% saying that they strongly approve. President Trump himself hinted at a potential run for the 2024 presidency, “Who knows, I may even decide to beat them for a third time.”
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo seems to be on a run of bad luck. He is already facing harsh condemnation from the media and fellow Democrats for putting thousands of COVID-19 infected people in nursing homes then lied to the public about the death toll. Now, there is another sexual harassment allegation for him to deal with, and most importantly, the trouble is not from political enemies or the opposition party.
