Myanmar enters state of emergency as it’s top leadership is detained including leader Aung San Suu Kyi who was arrested in an early morning raid. The military opposition party Union Solidarity Development Party (USDP) claimed that the Nov 8th Myanmar election was tainted causing the National League for Democracy to win 368 seats of the required 322. Myanmar’s nationwide state of emergency has dominated the headline panels of major media outlets as they have mostly decried the situation and “grave” threat to democracy or claim to take some form of action against the Country in the South-East Asian region. The military coup is an ongoing issue which we cover in detail here in this special episode with Peter Lepin.
