"Tear Down This Wall" Concert - Counter Protest

Patriot Fire

A group of German utopian international socialists and other open-borders, illegal-immigration advocates organized an anti-Trump protest concert on the border. This is video of the counter protest by a group of patriots. Video from the Internet is re-used to show how the protest had an impact on the other side of the border. The sound of the bullhorns is clearly heard. After the protest on the US side ended, one of the protesters crossed the border to take some additional video of the concert at the end.

The organizer of the concert was Markus Rindt, of the Dresden Symphony Orchestra in Germany. Another purpose of this concert -- an perhaps the most important -- was to create controversy in order to generate free publicity for the orchestra. This was quite successful in Germany, where they have a rabidly anti-American media.

Rindt was one of the first to flee the communist German Democratic Republic. Though he fled the DDR, he was raised in communism and still believes in the principles of it. Once indoctrinated Marxism, is difficult to get the dogma out of your head. He also appears to be something of a megalomaniac, who thinks his actions will have a cosmic impact. His initial plan was to have flash mobs protest all along the 2,000 mile border. This did not happen anywhere.

Rindt also planned to have the concert on both sides of the border. Due in large part to the engagement and complaints of several concerned American citizens, the permit for the concert was denied.

The concert givers boast that hundreds of people showed up on their side and only a handful of opposition to this grandiose political dreams appeared on the US side. However, Playas de Tijuana on the Mexican side is a culturally-deprived area. Any free international concert there would draw much the same hundreds of grateful residents, whether political in nature or not. Not to mention that practically none of the spectators are American citizens and have no say in whether the wall is built, or not.

The 10 patriots on the US side, many retired and carrying signs and equipment, had to walk three miles round-trip to reach the protest site, because the main road was still closed due to recent flooding. The fact is that a very large majority of Americans -- about 75% -- support the current border security or want more border security. So, it seems the effort of Marcus Rindt and his friends was pretty futile from the beginning. We suggest that they seek to realize their grandiose fantasies of world transformation in some other place.
