The Magnitsky list can not blown out of proportion, said the White House and decided not to extend the controversial document. Washington decided that American justice can do very well with eighteen Russian citizens, who will have to plan their holidays without a visit to the United States, where they are seen as violators of human rights, who contributed to the death of Hermitage Capital lawyer Sergei Magnitsky.

Sanctions, including both visa and economic ones -- have been imposed against all 18 members of the "black list".

Earlier, it was reported that Washington was going to extend the infamous list. American officials have repeatedly said before that the "Magnitsky list" would have new names. Apparently, the U.S. authorities decided not to ruin anyone's Christmas holidays. Most likely, though, the Magnitsky list has already become a bargaining element between Moscow and Washington.
