Seattle Begins Trash Snooping Program

The City of Seattle passed legislation that bans any resident from placing compostable items in the trash. Violations will result in fines after the initial "education" grace period ends.

To enforce the new law, the city is requiring trash collectors to inspect residents' garbage. If they find a rotten apple core in a black plastic bag...bam...you will be reported for environmental terrorism! Well that may not be the name of the charge, but you're definitely getting a fine.

Where will citizens draw the line?
