The Bible tells us "And be not conformed to this world" (Romans 12:2) yet so many Christians conform to our modern culture's views of the roles of men and women. Christianity today has either forgotten or just flat out rejected any gender roles God has given to us in the Bible. Men and women live as they want and if they marry they make their marriages as they want them to be with no thought of the distinct roles and responsibilities that God has given to men and women in his Word. While doctrines concerning the nature of God, the deity of Christ and the Gospel are certainly the most important doctrines in the Bible - they are NOT the only important doctrines. The Bible compares the Christian life to a race in many passages and it tells us that we will not win the crown(II Timothy 2:5) if we do not run the race lawfully. That means following God's will for our lives on a daily basis which includes following his rules, not ours, for our gender.
