Russia is working on the longest submarine that has ever existed in the world. The new submarine is to be launched already in 2019.

The submarine is 184 meters long. Its displacement is approximately the same as that of the flagship of the Russian fleet - the nuclear-powered cruiser Peter the Great.

Soviet Akula project submarines are 11 meters shorter.

The new submarine is known as K-329 Belgorod. This is going to be the first nuclear-powered cruiser that will be able to carry nuclear-powered vehicles.

The submarine is equipped with two nuclear reactors for movement and will have six reactors working for combat actions.

Simply put, the submarine will be armed with largest torpedoes in the world with atomic propulsion systems.

The submarine will be able to carry 6 Poseidon vehicles on board - these are new nuclear torpedoes of unlimited range. The torpedoes are going to be launched from a special bivalve portal in the upper part of the submarine hull.

The length of the portal is at least 60 meters.
