Russian warships will soon arrive in the Caribbean basin. Moscow, Beijing and Managua are launching large-scale military cooperation. The parties entered into a contract, on the basis of which there will be a channel built to connect the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans. The new channel will be named after one of the participating countries - Nicaragua. The channel will be ready in five years. Experts have called this move a thorn in the side of the USA. After all, Russia will be able to get closer to the borders of the United States.

Leonid Savin, chief editor of Geopolitics analytical publication

"This is extremely important, because the Americans used to consider it their backyard. Thus, Russia will be somehow able to show influence on the decision-making in the United States and possibly increase military presence in the region."
