Dozens of Melbourne's most rampant and violent Sudanese immigrants have been arrested in a sweeping Police operation across the city.
In total, Victoria Police arrested 57 people as part of the crackdown on what they are calling 'youth offending' across the state.
The majority of those arrested are Sudanese immigrants or children of Sudanese immigrants aged 15 to 21-years-old.
Detectives have so far charged 34 offenders aged between 13 and 19-years-old with more than 150 offences.
Police said those targeted are alleged to have committed offences which caused "significant harm to victims" and have "substantial impact on the broader community's feelings of safety."
"These crimes include carjackings, aggravated burglaries, armed robbery and serious street robberies – all horrendous crimes which leave a long-lasting impact on victims," North West Metro Region Commander Tim Hansen said.
