Laura made landfall overnight near Cameron, Louisiana, with wind speeds of 150 mph. On Thursday morning, Governor John Bel Edwards reported the first known fatality from the storm. A shelter in place order is in effect around Louisiana's Lake Charles, where a plant fire is burning.
