God and the Hitler Oath

A brief clip from "Hitler: Tyrant of Terror" showing Nazis in World War II swearing via god their allegiance to Hitler.

This video is in no way intended to support Nazism or anti-Semitism, but instead, intends to warn against them. The crimes of the Nazi regime are horrendous in history and well known, and anyone posting acclaim, support, or such about them will have such comments deleted immediately.

The other purpose is to dispel the idea that Hitler was an atheist or that Nazism was an atheistic ideology. It's quite ironic that such propaganda is put out regarding the pinnacle example of a propagandist ideology.

Hitler was not an atheist, but was in all likelihood an Occultist. However you want to term his beliefs, they were based on the notion that there was a supernatural existence. In sum: Hitler was religious, but it was an amalgamation of various occult beliefs and other religions to form his own. As Hitler said in April, 1933:

"Secular schools can never be tolerated because such schools have no religious instruction, and a general moral instruction without religious foundation is built on air; consequently all character training and religion must be derived from faith..."

Also, from Hitler's speech in October, 1933:

"We were convinced that the people need and require this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out."

Moreover, the Nazi ideology never practiced anything close to the separation of church and state. Hitler's Brown Army attended churches en masse; Wehrmacht soldiers (the unified armed forces of Germany) wore "God With Us" (Gott mit uns) on their belt buckles; Catholic and Protestant churches gave support to the Nazi regime; the Third Reich had a version of the bible (complete with ~12~ commandments) called "Germans with God" and distributed to German churches in 1941.

Finally, the acts ordered by Hitler and carried out by others were not done because of atheism. They were done as means of consolidating and keeping power in the hands of a narcissistic madman, and a fooled populous led by a core of die-hard believers who can only be described as dogmatic.
