I Threw Out All My Toxic Nail Polish Last Night — Why Are We Doing This to Ourselves?

Mel here. A commenter in my last video called me out for having nail polish in one of the clips and made an excellent point about how toxic these chemicals are. While I had already not painted my nails in a while and decided it was bad for me, I had yet to throw out my polishes (some of which are shamefully old anyway).

This video started out as a decision to throw all this crap in the garbage, but turned into a bit of a rant on toxins and estrogen mimickers and the general question of why it is that we do all this weird and potentially dangerous stuff to ourselves in the first place... things like painting toxic substances on our nails and faces, rubbing toxins into our skin and head, and putting metal wires around our bodies that could contribute to improper lymph drainage and cancer... That stuff.

In point of fact, a lot of this crap directly contributes to our own demise. It's BAD for us. So why do we do it? Because a TV said we should or we aren't good enough? Good enough for who? Who cares. If someone only only likes you because you fill your armpits full of heavy metals and rub poison all over yourself, I hate to state the obvious, but that person is a shallow douchebag with some serious priority issues.
