There are many in the church who subscribe to Old Earth Creationism, which is the belief that God created the universe, Earth, sea, and everything that is in those three things over the course of 14-16 billion years. In fact, there are more Old Earth Creationists in the church than there are Young Earth Creationists, so much so that Old Earth Creationists call Young Earth Creationism a cult or cultish.
