The humanitarian aid from Russia can not reach the destination in the south-east of Ukraine for a week already. While officials work to solve all legal formalities, thousands of civilians wait for the vital goods to finally arrive. KamAZ trucks from Moscow carry such bare necessities as water, power generators, food and baby food. However, inspectors need to make sure that Russia's humanitarian assistance is a peaceful mission. Kiev was not particularly willing to accept the help from Russia at all. Representatives of the Red Cross have been inspecting all 280 heavy trucks for nearly two days already. As soon as all vehicles are checked and sealed, the organization will take full responsibility for the content of the cargo. The procedure needs to be completed as quickly as possible, because in many areas of the south-east of Ukraine, people live without drinking water.
