Why Stay In a Corrupt Church?
Patrick Coffin lays out the biblical and historical context for bad leaders. The people of Israel were saddled with corrupt kings and priests, and somehow God worked out salvation history despite human sinfulness. Is it reasonable to suppose that the New Israel, the Catholic Church, would be immune from the same corruption? The thing to realize is that, while sin mars and undermines the Church's claim to be founded uniquely by Christ, it does not (and cannot) obliterate it.
