In this video, I would like to take a look at Turkic ancestry in Iranians. Based on my calculations, Iranians have between 4 and 9% Medieval Turkic ancestry, which peaks in the Azerbaijanis from Iran at 15%. My analysis shows that contemporary Iranians have very little Turkic ancestry, something which has been previously stated by Pan-Turks and Jason Reza Jorjani. Overall, Iranians are 90 to 95% the same as their ancient ancestors. Sources are referenced below.
