A very helpful and basic bit of information for those who may want to obtain quality topographic maps. I briefly walk you through the USGS website and its primary features on how to order a topographic map. I also provide a sample for the viewer and quickly describe some important map features. Finally, I go over my map case for hiking. This is in no way meant to be a detailed description, but only a very simple primer for anybody out there who really may not have a clue about obtaining maps for hiking. A map reading course will be made at a later date.
