I listen to you every day and I have yet to hear you be incorrect about what I observe to be female nature. Sadly, it took me until my 40's to wake up as I was a Beta simp for most of my adult life. Anyway, here goes: How is it that my wife says that she was raised to stand on her own two feet and that my mother didn't teach me and my sister the same thing. However, I have been the sole provider for over 15 years, having bought and remodeled four homes while she hasn't worked, and in the last 5 years, barely parents. Mostly she shops for sales online, decorates, reads, and plays games on her iPad. How is it that a married woman who barely contributes tells me directly that she was raised to stand on her own two feet while I am the one providing literally all of the resources for her and two kids. I almost laughed out loud when I saw how serious she was making this statement last night. How is it possible she thinks this way? Its daft. Why is it that women want to be driven around all the time? Sandman, you've alluded to being a chauffeur many times and I see it as well in my own life. Whenever my wife wants an errand taken care of, either I have to do it alone, or if she tries to pitch in, she still wants me to drive her to Target so "she can do the shopping" while I stand there waiting. When I told her that she has a valid driver's license and her own car, that she can run some errands by herself, she gets irritable or plain angry. Why do women do this? On a related note, when I decided to buy a full size truck, my wife told me I can't do that. It's too big for her to drive if her car breaks down or if she wants to borrow it (this would truly be maybe 1% of the time since she almost never goes anywhere). I told her "No, I'm buying a truck. I have waited 25 years to buy one and you picked the last 3 out of 4 vehicles. So it's my turn." Then she got angry and didn't speak to me for 3 days. Stonewalling and the silent treatment used to bother me, but now like you Sandman, I relish those days when my wife refuses to communicate because its quiet and I get alot of other stuff accomplished. I no longer rely on validation from her and I couldn't be happier. And I have the truck I always wanted to drive around while she ignores me.
