Because of the paucity of genuine achievements in most fields, other than sport, by people of African heritage, it is necessary during Black History Month to invent things in the most flagrant way imaginable and piggyback on the work of white Europeans and Americans. This enables Africans and Caribbeans to pretend, for example, that a black man was instrumental in devising the theory of evolution.
