Even though the people living here can probably afford it more than anyone else almost anywhere else in the country, this is still a ridiculously blatant, over-the-top revenue generation scam going on in East Hampton, NY by the city's "finest" traffic control goon squad. Seemingly every uniform seen in town was traffic-related and sharking around actively (read: desperately) searching for anyone who broke the one or two-hour parking rules in order to hand out tickets at $250 a pop. We saw at least five or six dedicated to just a *single* one-block radius. The people with the traffic uniforms appeared really proud to walk around all day being money-sucking parasites for the police department. No one anywhere seemed to care how obvious the whole thing was, either. Guess when the wealthiest in town are taking helicopters to work, who cares about a parking ticket... This is more about keeping outsiders away from their special little pocket on Long Island.
