It's a brave new Middle East, and in this region, former enemies have become quiet allies. Take the case of Syria and Israel: Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad was deposed by Western-backed jihadists amid heavy bombardment by Israel. Israel is even taking credit for overthrowing Assad, which paved the way for a former Al-Qaeda and ISIS member to become president of Syria.

Now, both Israel and Syria are eyeing Lebanon, with the US President even hinting that Syria's President wants to enter the country and fight Hezbollah. Who benefits?
