Helpful tips for replacing timing belt on a chrysler 2.4l dohc (this one off a 2002 sebring lx)
Make sure when removing tensioner from the engine you must put a 6 millimeter allen wrench into the face of tensioner pulley and rotate counterclockwise and put small allen key into round hole on tensioner face to remove belt, and to later reinstal belt, this will properly preload the tensioner for accurate tension on belt.
also on the left camsprocket (exhaust cam) set the marker in the valley of the level right side camsprocket as shown so when you put belt on and release tension the exhaust cam will adjust up to the level spot.
also make sure the arrow on the engine block IS NOT LINED UP DIRECTLY WITH the arrow on crank pulley, the arrow on block should be lined up on the trailing (left edge ) of the tooth that the arrow on the crank pulley rides on, will make job much easier, any questions leave in comments below, thanks
