A gripping story of bravery and defiance

‘The Islanders’ War’ is an award-winning documentary that tells the story of the Falklands Conflict in 1982 through the eyes of the people who lived through it.

Viewers are taken right into the heart of the action as the heroic deeds of the islanders are brought into focus. They transmitted vital radio intelligence, took clandestine photographs of Argentine positions and carried ammunition, food and men to the front lines while often under shell and mortar fire. It is a story of bravery and defiance at great personal risk and their immense contributions to the British cause will never be forgotten. The second documentary in this Video examines how Argentina’s leaders miscalculated Margaret Thatcher’s resolve to retake the islands. It caused the downfall of General Leopoldo Galtieri and eventually led to the restoration of democracy in Argentina.
