ED (Erectile Dysfunction) can affect men from age 30 and upwards and can be very distressing and frustrating for both men and their partners.

Erection problems may be caused by non-medical problems such as tiredness, too much alcohol or recreational drug use, stress, depression or relationship problems. Medical causes include problems with blood flow to your penis, hormones, prostate problems or surgery, and certain medications.

The best evidence for ED is using PDE5 inhibitor medications called Tadalafil (Cialis). Also patients use medications such as Viagra (Sildenafil).

The difference between Cialis and Viagra is that Cialis lasts much longer in the body (upto 36 hours) while Viagra only lasts 4-5 hours. Cialis is not affected by food and can be taken every day so that you don't have to plan when to have sex (unlike Viagra).

Viagra enhances Nitric Oxide release, which increases blood flow to the penis so you can get and keep an erection. It only works when you are sexually aroused.

Most men do not notice side effects, but you may develop a headache, indigestion or an upset stomach. Do not take alcohol with the medication as it will make side effects worse.
