What has happened to Julian Assange is an absolute travesty. But most of all, it is indicative of the true dangers that independent journalists put themselves in every day they decide to report the truth of anything else. Julian Assange is the embodiment of freedom of the best and his dilemma could easily become the dilemma of another journalist one day. That is why Wikileaks and the Internet Party held an online 12 hour vigil for Julian Assange to show him, the U.S, and the the world how important his sacrifice has been to us and why it is absolutely critical that he be set free from the embassy, but also from the wrongful persecution of the United States government.
