In August 2017, Kevin Myers briefy became the most infamous journalist in the world afer being sacked by The Sunday Times for making allegedly ‘anti-Semitic’ remarks in his column. Soon aferwards, he was denounced by the Taoiseach and Tanaiste who applauded The Sunday Times’ actions – the first time in history that the Irish government has supported a foreign organisation against an Irish citizen without even a hint of due process.
