Citizens of Chula Vista, California speak out against so-called Drag Queen Story Hours being held in public libraries at taxpayer expense. Chula Vista is a town, many of whose residents are immigrants or have immigrant families. Probably the majority have socially conservative values. This was well demonstrated in this controversy.
It was shocking, though, that two of the most prominent civic leaders were the most outspoken supporters of the mass indoctrination of local children into an appreciation of the drag queen sexual fetish. Councilman Stephen Padilla and Mayor Mary Salas even led a march in favor of the drag queens.
It was reported that the drag queens were paid for the performance. They used stage names and were allowed to remain anonymous. My suspicion is they are not even from this area, but were brought in to provoke local citizens for whatever bizarre reason.
