The 20th century was one of mass extermination and genocide, and more Europeans died than all other peoples combined. This visual nightmare was produced against a backdrop of images from the Holodomor, where 8 million Ukrainians were systematically starved to death in the Winter of 1932-33; and the Allied ruin of the most beautiful city on Earth, Dresden, where 100,000 women and children perished on February 14th, 1945. We will never forget this history, nor why it was conducted...

Alec Guinness reads excerpts from Eliot's "The Waste Land," published in 1922.
