Soyuz MS-14 spacecraft with Russia's first humanoid robot named Fyodor blasted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome on August 22, 2019. The spaceship entered low Earth orbit successfully.
The Soyuz with Fyodor on board separated from the booster rocket at an altitude of 200 kilometers. Before launch, the robot reproduced the famous phrase from first man in space Yuri Gagarin who said "Poehali!" ("Let's go!"). The robot flew into space wearing special “mittens” and holding a Russian flag in his hand. Fyodor congratulated the Russians on the Day of the Flag, which Russia celebrates on August 22.
After launch, Fyodor exchanged a few messages on Twitter with the head of Roskosmos Federal Space Agency.
After entering orbit, the spaceship will head to the International Space Station. The autonomous flight will last for two days. The approach of the Soyuz MS-14 spacecraft to the ISS and its docking to the Russian module of the station will be carried out automatically under the supervision of Mission Control specialists and Russian crew members of the ISS. The docking is scheduled for August 24 at 8:30 a.m. Moscow time.
