The Granville Raid in March 1945 was a daring operation by surviving Kriegsmarine forces who dashed across the sea from the occupied British Channel Islands to smash up the Allied supply port at Granville, Normandy. The raid was a success and a reminder that the Germans remained formidable foes even at the point of total defeat.
