The former Australian race discrimination commissioner, Tim Soutphommasane claims COVID-19 has unleashed a good deal of prejudice and discrimination around the world.
So imagine my surprise, when I searched long and hard through Tim's twitter feed, I could not find one tweet about any of China's racism.
Tim has NEVER tweeted condemning China for the over a million Uyghur's and other minorities currently in concentration camps.
He also ignores the state-sanctioned COVID-19-racial-attacks on African's in China.
He's right about the virus unleashing discrimination, but for some reason, he's avoiding the real perpetrators, China.
At first, I assumed it was just because Tim is just an anti-white racist. He cannot imagine a "minority" being racist. But that didn't sit well with me, because he often condemns people like me.
So I dug deeper into the story, and now it all makes sense.
Tim is a Professor and Director at Sydney University.
This past Friday it was revealed by the Centre for Independent Studies, that his University earns $550M a year from Chinese students.
That's OVER $1.5M a day. It's a quarter of their total annual revenue.
Basically, China owns Tim Soutphommasane.
He can pretend as much as he likes to be morally superior to all of us, but until he's willing to put his money where his mouth is – Tim is just a sellout.
