(Engl. Subs) Only 10 hours after the end of hostilities in Poland, Hitler spoke to the German Reichstag and issued a declaration on behalf of the Reich.. The session was held on October 6, 1939. His speech included a total of 12 pages, which was reprinted in virtually all German newspapers, then translated and sent out to the world, that all might know Germany's intentions.

Adolf Hitler detailed the political situation from the German perspective and he once again stretched out his hand in peace, as he has done numerous times before the war. Very vividly, he explained the dangers of a great war for the people in Europe and how he wanted to avoid another world war. He offered to halt all combat operations and asked that those persons in charge on the other side sit down at the negotiating table with him, to come to their senses, and to find a way to peace resolution of the conflict.
