There is a huge disparity in various parts of the world regarding innovation and copying. In two continents in particular, inventions and new intellectual ideas constantly spring forth. Elsewhere, technological developments are improved and enhanced, once somebody else has thought of them. In other places, there seems to be little but stagnation on all fronts.
