The Hungarian regent, Admiral Nicolas Horthy, conducted a state visit to Germany, where he was received by the German government with great ceremony.
Hitler used the event to strengthen ties with the Hungarian Regent.

Herr Hitler and the Regent of Hungary Admiral Horthy, who is his guest, took the salute at huge military parade. It formed a spectacular climax to the State visit of Admiral Horthy to Germany.
Sixteen thousand troops, 800 horses, 700 motor-vehicles, 412 tanks, 140 war planes,, and 308 guns appeared in the parade. Among the guns was some heavy artillery that had not previously been shown to the public and some new mortars.
