To RTÉ complaints department,
I am outraged at the naked blasphemy of RTÉ. The mocking of the Angelus is just the latest in a long line of insults aimed at Ireland’s Catholics by RTÉ.
The “People’s Angelus” is nothing more than a spit in the face of Ireland’s Catholics by the fat cats of RTÉ.
As someone who is forced to fund your channel, I find it deeply offensive. Will RTÉ be mocking the Islamic call the prayer any time soon? I bet not!
The liberal atheists at RTÉ would not dare insult our “New Irish” guests or their religions, so why is it okay to insult the Irish people, the VAST MAJORITY of whom are practicing Catholics?
I doubt my email will find a response, which says more for RTÉ and their agenda than it does for the faithful Catholics of Ireland.
I would ask you to refrain from broadcasting such outrageous content and issue an immediate apology for having the audacity to consider airing such bigotry.
The objection/complaint is submitted under the Broadcasting Act 2009, Section 48(1)(a)(fairness, objectivity & impartiality in current affairs) and under Section 48(1)(b)(harm & offence); the BAI Code of Fairness, Objectivity & Impartiality in News and Current Affairs (Section 4: Rules 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.17, 4.19, 4.20 and 4.22) and the BAI Code of Programme Standards – Principles 5 (Respect for Persons and Groups in Society) and 6 (Protection of the Public Interest).
