Hi-Point 995TS Disassembly/Reassembly

HORIZONS

This is a how-to guide: disassemble and reassembly of the Hi-Point 995(TS). No frills, very quick and simple. This rifle is a 9mm tactical carbine.

My personal review thus far of this carbine:
This is not the best pistol caliber carbine on the market, but it's definitely worth the money.
- CONS -
I do not like the sights. The triangle front is just not my type of sight, but your mileage may vary. I went strictly with a red dot and am still looking for a suitable way to apply iron sights.
The safety could be better, more ergonomic and smoother.
Upon firing last round, a magazine dump is not clean and quick.
Loading a magazine is not smooth and simple -the safety must be disengaged and the thumb release pressed to load a magazine.
The takedown does require some tool use, but it's better than the C9 pistol at least.
The stock is very sturdy, but due to its design, also very heavy.
Standard magazines are low capacity and single-stacked.
- PRO'S -
It is affordable.
It is rugged and well made construction-wise.
This carbine is fun to shoot.
The extended magazines work well and can add to the "fun factor".
Even though the picattiny rail is molded plastic as the rest of the stock, it still accepts red dot and holographic sights.
It can fire +P rounds and is very reliable in operation with excellent ejection and very good overall performance.
The warranty is solid, from an American owned company.
