On Wednesday, April 24, the organisation "At your side" demonstrated on behalf of the old and homeless. The participants gathered initially in Humlegården, where we met Tommy Westman who believes that tax should be abolished for pensioners with the lowest pension.
Many pensioners have been discouraged by injustice and have aired their anger on Facebook. Denny Abrahamsson has just been in court where he was accused of incitement against an ethnic group. He says that young people do not dare to say their opinion in sensitive matters and that he does not intend to be silenced.
We then meet Madeleine Forsgren who says we need a new Gustav or Gustava Vasa who can channel the anger and unify the nation.
The demonstration train towards Mynttorget it was very long. Estimated at more than a kilometer long.
On Mynttorget, among others the organisation's leader, Jeannette Höglund, speaks as does a homeless Lars Bick. Mia from "By your side" tells the story of a woman who, shortly after being hospitalised for a broken arm, got her place in a home for the elderly withdrawn.
Politicians were invited to speak, a call heard by Elisabeth Svantesson (m) and Jimmie Åkesson (SD).
The politicians could not say more than that these issues should addressed and worked on. Svantesson had to face a lot of booing from the public.
Jeanette had hoped to submit 75,000 signatures to Stefan Löfven, but unfortunately he did not show up.
After the demonstration, interviews were made with Jeanette Höglund, Lars Bick, volunteer Sara Johansson and a former homeless couple, Ulf Björk and Monica Narinder, who have been rehoused through the organisers.
