Britain to send depleted uranium rounds to Ukraine

Britain's Defence Ministry has confirmed that it will send depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine as part of its Challenger 2 tank package. Russia warned of a dangerous escalation and highlighted the devastating long-term effects of DU as seen in places including Fallujah and Yugoslavia where it has polluted the environment and led to a spike in cancers and birth defects.

Labour antisemitism, Zionism & Israel

All this stuff about anti-semitism has nothing to do with antisemitism whatsoever - its a complete blind, and a complete smokescreen"

This video is essential viewing for everyone who wants to understand the trouncing of Labour on the basis of its alleged antisemitism.

A case in point, the speaker, Anthony Greenstein, here speaking to Brighton PSC, has since been expelled from the Labour Party on the alleged grounds of being antisemitic. This is a particular insult to him as he is himself Jewish. In fact he has been disciplined precisely for upholding these scientific and strictly anti-racist, anti-zionist, anti-colonial and anti-imperialist views.

The truth, he meticulously shows, is that Zionism was and remains a colonial project. Israel was and remains an imperialist colony, "...a loyal jewish ulster in a sea of hostile arabism." Israel is key to the interests of the US in particular and imperialism in general in their ongoing domination of the Middle East and plunder of its huge oil reserves in particular.

Israel receives more aid from the USA that every other country in the world combined. And the US wishes to defend Israel, and give it a moral shield for its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, its Arab neighbours, and the wider world - which in the last analysis are committed in the name of and in the interest of US imperialism itself.

The record of Israel - an openly racist, apartheid, militarist state - makes it indefensible by any honest and open polemical means.

Far better to simply go on the attack, and accuse its accusers of being racist - "anti-semitic". [Forget that the Palestinians are also technically semites].

Norman Bethune used to point out that the Zionists themselves developed this technique - "Crying and shooting" - in their every day propaganda campaign: while conducting ongoing military operations to murder and dispossess the Palestinian people, they deflect attention from their unholy war by referring to the inviolability and special memory of the Holocaust on the one hand (as if that had anything to do with the Palestinian people) and on the other claim that all Palestinians they oppress are terrorists on the other.

Stalin's speech at beginning of Great Patriotic War - Germany invades the USSR

The 75th anniversary of Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union passed the day before the EU referendum - 22 June - with barely a murmur of acknowledgement from our press, who were too busy trying to brow-beat and pressurise us into voting to remain within the EU. The historical irony of this fact should not be overlooked.

We reproduce here Stalin's speech, given to rally the peoples of the great and glorious USSR, and to inspire them to resist the merauding forces of hitlerite fascism. It was a life-and-death struggle in which the Soviet working people sacrificed some 27 million lives, breaking the back of the German fascist war machine.

THe timing could not be more telling, for while Ex-Labour leader Gordon Brown hypocritically and falsely claimed that the EU has spared a generation from war, our party has had a clear analysis of the European Union.

The EU, in point of fact, rose after WW2 to stand as a 'bulwark' against communism, against human progress and workers freedom; to stand for preservation of empire and to safeguard the rights of the European and US billionaires.

Yet with the current crisis of capitalism, the contradictory interests of the national capitalist groups and the discontent of their working masses is bursting this temporary alliance of European capitalists asunder.

In the week of the Brexit vote, no British politician or journalist referred to Vladimir Putin’s speech in St. Petersburg commemorating the seventy-fifth anniversary of Nazi Germany’s invasion of the Soviet Union on 22 June, 1941.

Putin likened the current frenzied build up of Nato troops and war material on Russia’s western borders to the Third Reich’s Operation Barbarossa. Nato’s exercises in Poland were the biggest since the Nazi invasion; Operation Anaconda had simulated an attack on Russia, presumably with nuclear weapons.

On the eve of the referendum, the quisling secretary-general of Nato, Jens Stoltenberg, warned Britons they would be endangering “peace and security” if they voted to leave the EU. The millions who ignored him and Cameron, Osborne, Corbyn, Obama and the man who runs the Bank of England may, just may, have struck a blow for real peace and democracy in Europe.

As US/UK/NATO/EU Imperial forces again ramp up their wars of colonial plunder and head on a trajectory of militarily enforced world-wide economic domination, bringing them inevitably into conflict with China and Russia, and apparently oblivious to the third world war they are bringing about by their fascist policy, we would do well to remember the words of Lenin - that without a Bolshevik struggle, and a Bolshevik revolution, there can be no peace.

We understand that although destroying the EU does not end capitalism, it will weaken the imperialist's alliance. And that when thieves fall out - honest men may prosper.

Through Hell for Hitler

Henry Friedrich Carl Metelmann, was born on 25 December 1922, the son of a socialist railway worker in Hamburg, Germany. As a lively and active boy, he joined the scouts, and later his group was merged with the Hitler youth. With Hitler's rise he was seduced by the fascist movement, and the experiences and privileges it bestowed

He fought with Von Paulus' Nazi 6th army at Stalingrad. Through experience he came to reject fascism and capitalist imperialism. He settled in Britain, becoming a communist, a railway worker, groundsman, writer and peace activist. He died on 24 July 2011.

Henry Metelmann was keen to talk about his experiences, especially to the young, and equated the invasion of the Soviet Union by an oil-hungry Nazi Germany with the Anglo-American assault on oil-rich Iraq in 2003. He remained a member of the Communist party of Great Britain until its break-up in 1991.

He delivered a powerful lecture to the Stalin Society in London, in 2004, which sadly was not filmed, but shortly afterwards Harpal Brar, now chairman of the CPGB-ML, conducted this interview with Henry at his home in Godalming.

This interview remains as moving, compelling and relevant as the day it was conducted. For it helps us to understand German (Nazi) Imperialism. Not merely as something exceptional, uniquely evil, incomprehensible and never to be repeated; but as the standard behaviour of imperialism. That is of expansionist monopoly capitalism.

What conclusions does he draw from his long, full active and historically rich life? He tells us that there can be no peace, while capitalism still exists. We must overthrow it, or perish.
