The politicians, wearing tricolour sashes of office and singing the national anthem, disrupted about 200 worshippers on a street in Clichy.
Police kept the two groups apart but some scuffles broke out.
Critics say the prayers are an unacceptable use of public space in France's strictly secular system.
The worshippers, however, say they have nowhere else to go since the town hall took over the room they used for prayers back in March.
"Public space cannot be taken over in this way," said Valérie Pécresse, president of the Paris regional council, who led Friday's protest by councillors and MPs mainly of the centre-right Republicans and UDI parties.
Rémi Muzeau, the right-wing mayor of Clichy, called on the interior ministry to ban the street prayers, adding: "I am responsible for guaranteeing the tranquillity and freedom of everyone in my town."
One of the worshippers, named only as Abdelkader, told AFP news agency that they wanted a "dignified" place to worship and did not enjoy being in the street every Friday.
He said he resented the politicians singing the French national anthem during their protest.
"They were singing the Marseillaise, throwing it in our faces, even though we're French people here. We're French. Long live France!" he said.

A French reporter brought up 85-year-old Fr. Jacques Hamel, a French priest who was murdered July 26 by Islamic extremists while offering Mass. The reporter asked Pope Francis why he never uses the word “Islam” when he speaks of terrorists.

The question is a little difficult: Catholics are a bit in shock, and not only in France, after the barbarous assassination of Fr. Jacques Hamel — as you know well — in his church while celebrating the Holy Mass. Four days ago, you here told us that all religions want peace. But this holy, 86-year-old priest was clearly killed in the name of Islam. So, Holy Father, I have two brief questions: why do you, when you speak of these violent events, always speak of terrorists, but never of Islam, never use the word Islam? And then, aside from prayer and dialogue, which are obviously essential, what concrete initiatives can you advise or suggest in order to counteract Islamic violence? Thank you, Holiness.

One can say that the so-called ISIS, but it is an Islamic State which presents itself as violent ... because when they show us their identity cards, they show us how on the Libyan coast how they slit the Egyptians’ throats or other things … But this is a fundamentalist group which is called ISIS … but you cannot say, I do not believe, that it is true or right that Islam is terrorist.

“By now, we should all know the dangers of ‘groupthink,’ where folks who are alike often think alike,” she said. “By contrast, groups comprised of different people tend to question one another’s assumptions, draw on divergent perspectives and experiences, and yield better outcomes.”

Bill Maher just messed up.

On his HBO program Real Time Friday night, which tapes live, the comedian dropped the N-word during a sit-down interview with Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska), who has received praise for his #NeverTrump stance.

After some polite back and forth between Maher and the Republican senator, who both seemed to agree on the subject of the latter’s recent book—about how “spoiled and entitled” millennial kids are, obviously—the following exchange happened.

“Halloween used to be a kid thing,” Maher remarked.

“It’s not anymore?” said Sen. Sasse.

“Not out here,” explained Maher. “No, adults dress up for Halloween. They don’t do that in Nebraska?”

“It’s frowned upon. Yeah, we don’t do that quite as much,” he replied.

“I’ve gotta get to Nebraska more,” offered Maher.

“You’re welcome. We’d love to have you work in the fields with us,” joked Sen. Sasse.

Then it happened: “Work in the fields? Senator, I’m a house nigga.”

Maher’s terrible, off-color—and frankly, more than a little racist—joke received a mixture of groans and laughter from the audience. Sen. Sasse was pretty firmly in the laugh camp, red-faced and grinning (albeit nervously) from ear-to-ear. Why the senator chose to play along instead of correcting Maher or saying anything is anyone’s guess.

To the groaners in the crowd, Maher asserted, “It’s a joke.”

But that excuse isn’t nearly good enough. Twitter, understandably, came after the comedian for using the N-word—a term of racial subjugation and oppression that is never OK for white people to use, in any context.

Maher’s made several controversial statements of late, from cracking an Ivanka Trump incest joke to agreeing with much of what transphobic guest Milo Yiannopoulos had to say on his program—which served as yet another example of the comic’s troubling views on the trans community.

This one will surely earn Maher widespread condemnation, although it remains to be seen if the famously unapologetic comedian will be the bigger man and apologize.

Malkin said it makes her blood boil to think about an innocent child being traumatized by such a "sick and vile image."

Hi, this is New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. I saw a video today from Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that is truly disturbing. In trying to address the current controversy on whether there should be federal funding for Planned Parenthood Clinics, Secretary Clinton says that Republicans are against funding for women’s healthcare. Well nothing could be further from the truth and let me use my state, New Jersey, as an example.

We generously fund federally qualified health clinics throughout New Jersey, which provides excellent care for women and men in our state who need it. Everything from cancer screenings and mammograms for women to prostate cancer screenings for men to diabetes treatment and to everything in between that can lead folks to greater healthcare available to them and can lead to greater health results for each and every person who walks through the door.

Now you see, the real issue here that Secretary Clinton won’t address—is the conduct of Planned Parenthood. Do you think that Planned Parenthood should be able to use federal funding to kill children in the womb in a specific way, so that they can maximize the value of body parts that they then sell on the open market for profit? I’ll tell you that I think most common sense Americans believe that that conduct is reprehensible, should not occur at all, and certainly should not be funded with tax payer dollars.

My position on this is clear. We defunded Planned Parenthood in New Jersey nearly six years ago and I’ve vetoed it seven times since then. I don’t believe taxpayer money should be going to Planned Parenthood.

Now Secretary Clinton, why don’t you answer this question: Do you support the conduct of Planned Parenthood in the killing of children in the womb in a way that maximizes their body parts for sale on the open market?

Jerusalem Gay Pride: Six stabbed 'by ultra-Orthodox Jew' Israeli police have arrested a man after six people were wounded in a stabbing at the Gay Pride parade in Jerusalem.

A police spokesperson identified the suspect as the same man who stabbed three people at the parade in 2005.

Yishai Schlissel, an ultra-Orthodox Jew, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for that attack and was released from prison three weeks ago.

Two of the injured are in a serious condition, medics said.

The attacker emerged behind marchers and began stabbing them while screaming, before being tackled by a police officer.

Dramatic images showed the assailant reaching inside his coat and raising a knife above his head.

Yasmin Yusupov, 20, told the BBC she and her friends were marching when she "started seeing a lot of people running".

"We didn't realise what happened but I was pulling the friends who were with me to run away. We just banged on doors of people's houses. We tried asking them to get us inside.

"When we came back I saw a few bodies on the floor right in front of me. Everyone had blood on their hands because they were trying to help," she added.

The parade continued after the wounded were taken to a hospital, with protesters chanting "end the violence".

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attack as "a most serious incident".

"In the state of Israel the individual's freedom of choice is one of basic values. We must ensure that in Israel, every man and woman lives in security in any way they choose. That's how we acted in the past and how we'll continue to act. I wish the wounded a speedy recovery," he said in a statement.

President Reuven Rivlin condemned the stabbing as a "terrible hate crime".

"We must not be deluded, a lack of tolerance will lead us to disaster. We cannot allow such crimes, and we must condemn those who commit and support them."

'Massive police presence'
Carole Nuriel, a director at New York-based Jewish rights organisation the Anti-Defamation League, said the group was "shocked and horrified" by the attack.

"Jerusalem's pride parade celebrates the city's diverse and vibrant LGBT community. That celebration has once again been violated with violence and hatred," she said in a statement.

She added: "We extend our solidarity with the LGBT community, and hope for the full recovery of the victims."

Hundreds of police are deployed along the parade route to prevent violence breaking out. Jerusalem police spokesman Asi Ahroni told Reuters there was a "massive presence" of police at the parade but "unfortunately the man managed to pull out a knife and attack".

The event has long been a source of tension between Jerusalem's secular majority and its Jewish Orthodox communities. Israeli police granted a permit for 30 right-wing religious activists to protest on Thursday by the Great Synagogue, close to the parade route.

Ultra-Orthodox Jews have previously gathered in the city's Mea Shearim quarter to protest against homosexuality.

Israel's homosexual community was the target of a 2009 attack in Tel Aviv, where a gunman opened fire at a centre for young gays, killing two people and wounding 15 others.

The assailant behind that attack was apprehended.

Israel has relatively liberal gay rights policies, despite the ultra-Orthodox community's hostility towards homosexuals. The Jewish state repealed a ban on consensual same-sex sexual acts in 1988.

‘Send an Ambulance’: Father Beats Homosexual Caught Raping 11-Year-Old
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The father of an 11-year-old boy recently beat a homosexual man senseless before calling police when he allegedly found the man in the act of sexually molesting his son.

The father, who has not been named, arrived home to find that his son’s 18-year-old babysitter, Raymond Frolander, was in bed with his child. He then beat Frolander severely and dragged him out to the living room before dialing 911.
“I just walked in on a grown man molesting [my son],” the father states in recorded 911 audio footage. “And I got him in a bloody puddle for you, officer.”
“Did you use any weapons?” the dispatcher asked.
“My foot and my fist,” the father replied. “I didn't proceed to ask him any questions, sir. He is nice and knocked out on the floor for you. I drug him out to the living room. He stood up and his pants were around his ankles and nothing else needed to be said. I did whatever I got a right to do, except I didn’t kill him. Send an ambulance. He is going to need one.”
The teen was treated and released from the hospital before being transferred to the Volusia County Jail, where he was also questioned by police.

Frolander, who appeared in court on Friday with a bruised and swollen face, allegedly admitted that he had engaged in sexual activity with the boy. The child told the police that the abuse had been ongoing for three years, but he was too afraid to say anything.

Police state that Frolander first had the boy sit on his lap, then took him to a bedroom where he began to molest him—until the child’s father walked in.

The father will not be charged for beating his son’s abuser.

“Dad was acting like a dad. I don’t see anything we should charge the dad with,” Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told reporters. “You have an 18-year-old who has clearly picked his target, groomed his target and had sex with the victim multiple times. When the victim sat on the 18-year-old’s lap, he knew what was next. The young man was in fear that if he didn’t comply, he would get hurt.”

Walter Lee Hampton III, a self-professed homosexual, posted in a YouTube video earlier this year that he would not allow youth to be alone with homosexuals because of the prevalence of men pursuing young males.

“I’ve been active in the gay community since I was 17 years of age, and when I first came out, I could not understand why so many older individuals were interested in me,” he said. “These older guys literally chased me down [even though] I was a little kid.”

“Over the years, I have watched many of my friends chase after teenage kids under the age of 18,” he continued. “So, I thought in my mind, if I ever had kids—if I ever had teenage boys, I would keep them away from the vast majority of gay guys, because I know how this works.”

“I have seen this so often,” Hampton lamented. “This is not something that’s abnormal. I’ve seen this a thousand times.”

Christian in Sudan sentenced to death for faith; 'I'm just praying,' husband says Irapuato on May 15, 2014 Hours after a Sudanese court sentenced his pregnant wife to death when she refused to recant her Christian faith, her husband told CNN he feels helpless.
"I'm so frustrated. I don't know what to do," Daniel Wani told CNN on Thursday. "I'm just praying."
This week a Khartoum court convicted his wife, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, 27, of apostasy, or the renunciation of faith.
Ibrahim is Christian, her husband said. But the court considers her to be Muslim.
The court also convicted her of adultery and sentenced her to 100 lashes because her marriage to a Christian man is considered void under Sharia law.
The court gave her until Thursday to recant her Christian faith -- something she refused to do, according to her lawyer.
During Thursday's sentencing hearing, a sheikh told the court "how dangerous a crime like this is to Islam and the Islamic community," said attorney Mohamed Jar Elnabi, who's representing Ibrahim.
"I am a Christian," Ibrahim fired back, "and I will remain a Christian."
Her legal team says it plans to appeal the verdict, which drew swift condemnation from human rights organizations around the world.
In the meantime, Ibrahim, who is eight months' pregnant, remains in prison with her 20-month-old son.
"She is very strong and very firm. She is very clear that she is a Christian and that she will get out one day," Elnabi told CNN from Sudan.
Ibrahim was born to a Sudanese Muslim father and an Ethiopian Orthodox mother. Her father left when she was 6 years old, and Ibrahim was raised by her mother as a Christian.
However, because her father was Muslim, the courts considered her to be the same, which would mean her marriage to a non-Muslim man is void.
The case, her lawyer said, started after Ibrahim's brother filed a complaint against her, alleging that she had gone missing for several years and that her family was shocked to find she had married a Christian man. A family divided
The court's ruling leaves a family divided, with Ibrahim behind bars and her husband struggling to survive, Elnabi said.
Police blocked Wani from entering the courtroom on Thursday, Elnabi said. Lawyers appealed to the judge, but he refused, Elnabi said.
Wani uses a wheelchair and "totally depends on her for all details of his life," Elnabi said.
"He cannot live without her," said the lawyer.
The couple's son is having a difficult time in prison.
"He is very affected from being trapped inside a prison from such a young age," Elnabi said. "He is always getting sick due to lack of hygiene and bugs."
Ibrahim is having a difficult pregnancy, the lawyer said. A request to send her to a private hospital was denied "due to security measures."
There also is the question of the timing of a potential execution.
In past cases involving pregnant or nursing women, the Sudanese government waited until the mother weaned her child before executing any sentence, said Christian Solidarity Worldwide spokeswoman Kiri Kankhwende.
Rights groups, governments ask for compassion
Amnesty International describes Ibrahim as a prisoner of conscience.
"The fact that a woman could be sentenced to death for her religious choice, and to flogging for being married to a man of an allegedly different religion, is abhorrent and should never be even considered," Manar Idriss, Amnesty International's Sudan researcher, said in a statement.
"'Adultery' and 'apostasy' are acts which should not be considered crimes at all, let alone meet the international standard of 'most serious crimes' in relation to the death penalty. It is a flagrant breach of international human rights law," the researcher said.
Katherine Perks with the African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies said the verdict goes against Sudan's "own Constitution and commitments made under regional and international law."
"Meriam has been convicted solely on account of her religious convictions and personal status," she said.
Foreign embassies in Khartoum are urging the government there to reverse course.
"We call upon the Government of Sudan to respect the right to freedom of religion, including one's right to change one's faith or beliefs, a right which is enshrined in international human rights law as well as in Sudan's own 2005 Interim Constitution," the embassies of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Netherlands said in a statement.
"We further urge Sudanese legal authorities to approach Ms. Meriam's case with justice and compassion that is in keeping with the values of the Sudanese people," it read.
'Egregious violations of freedom of religion'
Attempts to contact Sudan's justice minister and foreign affairs minister about the Ibrahim case were unsuccessful.
