Henry 'Scoop' Jackson was a cold war hawk veteran of the US congress, always pushing for more weapons, more war and for a long time harboured a raft of anti-Semitic views, yet when the British neocons were casting around for a peg to hang their top hats on, they oddly fastened upon the obscure and largely forgotten Jackson. The US is in crisis this week. The mass murder of black Christians in Charleston, South Carolina, may yet trigger cataclysmic events and if they don't, it can only be a matter of time. Seldom does a week go by when a black man is not murdered or grievously assaulted by a white police officer, usually cleared of any blame by an all-white tribunal. Against this backdrop, meanwhile, the next generation of US leaders is beginning to take form, though whether Mrs Hillary Clinton can accurately be described as a new generation for the Democratic Party at the age of 67 is debatable. And what do you know, there’s Jeb Bush, son of one President Bush and brother of another – this is a real Republican Dynasty. Joining us this week to discuss the American imbroglio is RT's own Stacy Herbert.

On Friday, a bomb attack by Saudi Arabia on a hospital in the southern Yemeni province of Abyan claimed the lives of at least nine people.

Most of the victims are said to be members of the Ansarullah movement, who are fighting al-Qaeda and ISIL terrorists inside Yemen.

The attack came as Saudi Arabia is also pushing ahead with a military onslaught against its impoverished southern neighbor with the declared objective of targeting the Ansarullah movement. The military campaign, however, has left a heavy civilian death toll.

The House of Saud started the military campaign against Yemen in late March – without a UN mandate – in an attempt to weaken the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Riyadh seeks to bring Yemen's fugitive former president, who is a staunch ally of the Al Saud regime, back to power.

In this edition of Comment, we ask: What will it take for Saudi Arabia to stop bombing Yemen?

ISIL has been kidnapping, torturing and abusing children in a bid to raise them as loyal child soldiers. Meanwhile, in the US, gun violence continues to spread.

ISIL has crucified two teenage boys in Syria for not fasting in Ramadan. Reports say that ISIL militants have abducted more than 1,200 children from Iraqi cities. ISIL uses children militarily, as soldiers, and economically, as ransom. Young children are forced by ISIL to train to commit acts of terror.

In the US, the Charleston City Council has banned protests against the terror attack in a church that saw a young white man shoot and kill nine black worshippers. Experts say the killer, 21-year old Dylann Roof, was motivated by political racism.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, police have shot an unarmed man in the head and, rather disturbingly, have then proceeded to handcuff him. US police have been widely condemned for having killed over 500 people in the past six months alone.

George Galloway was involved in a remarkable row with journalist John Rentoul live on LBC as he insisted Tony Blair is behind the delay to the Chilcot Inquiry into the Iraq War.

The British arms trade is booming especially where there's war, or the possibility of it. We start them, incite them then fuel them. And when the human tide washes up on our shores, we cry "Johnny Foreigner" cranking up the xenophobia, which in turn leads to more demand for more wars, more weapons and off we go again. Andrew Smith from The Campaign Against Arms Trade joins Sputnik this week to shed light on how closely linked British foreign policy is to the arms trade and just how profitable the British arms business really is.

And if the arms trade is bad for your health, wait until you hear about the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. The TTIP negotiations between the EU and the US are almost wholly conducted in secret. But its consequences are far more profound than the recent general election where at least everything was out on the table. Samuel Lowe comes into the studio to tell us how the TTIP would vastly extend the scale of privatization in health, education, water services and many other areas, including special corporate courts with the power to override national parliaments and take us further down the road to an Orwellian future of corporate slavery.

Galloway told James that have been elected to parliament six times and "leading" the anti-war movement in the run-up to the Iraq War, his credentials spoke for themselves.

"Running a city like London is not like running a political party," James told the outspoken former MP.

Galloway replied: "I'm telling you about my leadership credentials. A lot of people recognise them. That's why I'm here, that's why the bookmakers are narrowing the odds."

The Respect Party leader then took aim at his newest rival for the top job in the city: Zac Goldsmith.

"If you're going to have a multi-billionaire trust fund child as your mayor, he's definitely the best one to have!

"He's a good and honourable person, but he's undeniably part of the elite - and I'm speaking for those that are not."

On May 17, ISIL Takfiri terrorists took control of Ramadi after overrunning government troops.

Last week, the Iraqi army, backed by volunteer fighters known as the Popular Mobilization forces, launched a major offensive southwest of Samarra in an effort to retake Ramadi.

Iraq’s Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi says the advance of ISIL Takfiri terrorists in the region represents a “failure” for the whole world.

Anbar province is the major stronghold of the ISIL militants in Iraq. They also control parts of land in neighboring Syria.

Mr Blair, just appointed to head the campaign in Europe against racism and anti-semitism, has had nothing to say about the murderous racist rampage being conducted by his new friends in Burma.
