Quelques heures avant le coup d'envoi du match Angleterre-Russie, un "commando" d'une centaine de hooligans russes (CSKA Moscou, Spartak Moscou, Lokomotiv Moscou, Zénith Saint-Pétersbourg...) surgit sur le Vieux Port pour une attaque en règle sur les centaines de hooligans anglais présents ce jour-là. Ceux-ci encaissent une défaite historique : les blessés et les drapeaux volés se comptent par dizaines.
Cet après-midi de violences marquera un tournant dans le monde du hooliganisme, plus médiatique qu'autre chose : cela faisait déjà plusieurs années que l'Europe de l'Est avait pris la tête du hooliganisme au détriment de l'Angleterre, leader historique. L'Euro 2016 n'aura fait que confirmer cet état de fait.

A few hours before the kick-off of the England-Russia match, a "commando" of about a hundred Russian hooligans (CSKA Moscow, Spartak Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, Zenith St. Petersburg ...) appeared on the Vieux Port for a proper attack on the hundreds of English hooligans present that day. They suffered a historic defeat: dozens of wounded and stolen flags were counted.
This afternoon of violence will mark a turning point in the world of hooliganism, more media-oriented than anything else: it had already been several years since Eastern Europe had taken the lead in hooliganism to the detriment of England, the historical leader. Euro 2016 will have only confirmed this state of affairs.
