The 166th graduation ceremony of air force pilots was conducted at Hatzerim airbase in Israel.

Graduates of the Air Force Academy demonstrated the skills that they had acquired during three years of studies.

The ceremony was attended by Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, and others.

Shimon Peres in his address to the graduates of the academy said that during the recent 50 years Israeli Air Force had become the best air force in the world.

The duration of training for pilots of Israeli Air Force is the longest among all programs of the armed forces of the country. Each pilot undergoes high-quality training, including training for officers and academic training. When graduating, students receive a Bachelor's degree at Ben-Gurion University.

The most massive Israeli Air Force combat aircraft is the American F-16. The country constantly upgrades the fleet of its aircraft. By the end of 2016 Israel may become the first foreign country in the world to pass F-35 fifth generation fighter aircraft into service.
