Wrapping Up the Whole LGBT thing (for now)

I guess this will be one of the last videos I'll do specifically on the subject of LGBT rights. But in this video I won't focus exclusively on what's going on in the Muslim-Arab world with gay executions, imprisonment, etc. But approach the subject from four different angles.

First I'll address the great collaboration video - which to my amazement included people who I know to be right-wing neocons and left-wing progressives, which meant to me that not only are people around the world worried about this matter of Human Rights, but this specific issue about gay rights is also bipartisan.

Second point, will be a brief statement about the folly of the United Nations. Mainly the fact that non-democratic nations can vote in a democratic way in the UN, not to mention the fact that the WORST violators of human rights are the countries in charge of the United Nations' Human Rights Council - making the U.N. the most important and ridiculous organization imaginable.

Third point is to address Arab and Muslim states that sanction LGBT discrimination and executions by mentioning two historic, know homosexual, figures: Alexander the Great (AKA Alexander III of Macedon), the creator of one of the largest empires in ancient history. And Alan Turing the British mathematician that formalized the concept of the algorithm and computation (i.e. invented modern computing) and who designed the bombe - an electromechanical machine that cracked the Nazi Enigma code in WWII. Both men could have brought real change to the Arab and Muslim world. And I can only wonder who many Alans and Alexanders, Islam has executed to date...

The last point just might be the most important one. In that point I'll address the discrasful situation of LGBT right in non-Muslim and non-Arab states. Where elementary things like: Legality of same-sex sexual activity; Recognition of same-sex relationships; Same-sex marriage; Same-sex adoption; And anti-discrimination / gender identity/expression laws. Are in a horrific state. True it is much better than executing them, but still, when taking in mind that we're living in the 21st century, and that many of these countries are regarded as modern and western -- the situation of LGBT right is simply shameful. And since most of these countries are democratic - YOU - the people -- can change it.
