In June 2017, when I visited Madaya, locals spoke of how al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and other terrorists took the food aid sent into the village by the Syrian government and aid agencies, and hoarded it for themselves, selling only at exhorbitant prices unaffordable to the residents.
