Kristopher (Kris) Kime was a 20-year-old college student who was hit in the head with a skateboard by Jerell Thomas after Kris tried to help a young woman who was lying on the ground and being attacked during the Mardi Gras riot. Kris was beaten to death by rioters in Seattle's Pioneer Square district early in the morning of February 28, 2001.
