Turkey asks Russia to provide an explanation to the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg, given an incident with the Su-34 on 29 January.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry used to claim that the Russian aircraft violated its airspace. The same statement was made by the NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg.
Semyon Bagdasarov, expert on the Central Asian and Middle Eastern problems at the Centre of Analytical Studies:
'That means that Erdogan covers oneself with the NATO, as he realizes that Turkey is alone and is a nought itself in comparison with our Armed Forces. It's such a tactics, even a strategy of Erdogan – to occupy the Syrian territory covering oneself with aid of the NATO. And that is currently taking place, a range of eminences was occupied two months ago. According to some data, the Jarabulus passage in the buffer zone has been partly taken under control. That is, they cover themselves with the NATO and take the offensive at this level in the territory of Syria with separate subdivisions, as well as support such groups as the Islamic State and Jabhat al-Nusra. These are the explanations of Turkey. Certainly, we won't provide any explanations, we don't need that Secretary General of NATO.
