A shelter for disabled dogs in Si Racha, Thailand, is facing tough times in its mission to take care of disabled pets due to a sharp drop in donations and a growing number of animals abandoned amid the pandemic, as seen on Saturday. Dogs could be seen running in little wheelchairs around the shelter named 'The Man Who Rescues Dogs' and founded by Michael Baines, who provide free care for disabled pets. ''Since the COVID pandemic started we have seen more dogs who have been dumped on the streets and in temples,' Baines said, adding that the shelter lost about 40 percent in donations. There are currently 600 hundred dogs in Baines' shelter, which also takes care of more 350 dogs on the streets. "Most of the dogs that we rescue have some issues when we take them in, but it can be a wound, or various skin or blood parasites," he said.
