Whilst there is no universal definition of terrorism, a common definition according to Matusitz (2013) is -
"It is the use of violence or threat of violence in the pursuit of political, religious, ideological or social objectives."
If Maajid was recruiting army officers (men with guns) to instigate military coups, please explain to me how that is not using violence or at least the threat of violence for religious/political objectives?
